What it does

Front & rear

Switch cameras before recording. Audio captured alongside video, in sync.

Screen-off recording

A proper foreground service keeps recording when the screen is off or the app is backgrounded.

Pause & resume

Pause, resume, and a live timer. Minimized mode dims the screen but keeps REC + Stop visible.

Own folder

Saves to a dedicated Recordings folder, not your photo gallery. Survives reboots.

Choose UHD, FHD, HD, or SD with automatic fallback to what the camera supports.

Built-in manager

Browse, play, rename, export, and delete clips with name, date, duration, and size.

Install

  1. Download the APK with the button above.
  2. Open it from Files or your browser's downloads.
  3. Allow “install unknown apps” if Android asks.
  4. Open Recorder and grant Camera, Microphone, and Notifications.
Heads up: for long screen-off recordings, exempt Recorder from battery optimization in Settings so the system doesn't pause it.

Permissions it asks for

  • CAMERACapture video.
  • RECORD_AUDIOCapture audio with the video (optional — video-only works too).
  • FOREGROUND_SERVICEKeep recording while backgrounded, with a visible notification.
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONSShow the recording-status notification.
  • WAKE_LOCKPrevent the CPU sleeping mid-recording.
No storage, location, or network permissions. Recordings never leave your phone.
